Engagement & partnership
Across all our projects, we recognise the importance of stakeholder engagement and firmly believe in a proactive not a reactive approach.
Kingsrose is committed to engaging with the local community and stakeholder groups for all our projects, with regular open meetings to inform our current progress and discuss our next steps.
The Group is committed to building a lasting, mutually rewarding relationship with the surrounding communities and implementing initiatives and structures that encourage the community to be self reliant that will in turn allow the community to grow and prosper beyond the lifetime of the Project.
The approach adopted is that of consultation and co-operation to ensure our goals are aligned with the needs of the community. This approach has proven to be extremely beneficial, resulting in a number of social and environmental initiatives, including support for sporting and cultural events, educational scholarships, medical donations, forestry rehabilitation and the provision of micro-loans aimed at assisting local entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. Additional support is provided for local infrastructure projects including the upgrading of roads, building of bridges, water drainage and assisting with the development of micro hydroelectric systems for power generation.
One of the biggest benefits provided to the local community are the many employment opportunities available at the Way Linggo Project and the extensive training programs providing employees with strong and sustainable skill sets. A large number (more than 70%) of the on-site workforce come from neighbouring villages and the wider Lampung province.
The success of these programs has been proven by PTNM having received a CSR Award by the local government namely Tanggamus District. In recent years the Tanggamus government assesses about 20 companies with various business sectors. CSR awards are divided into 3 categories, namely category of Regional Development, Environmental Conservation, and Community Empowerment. PTNM is the best in the Community Empowerment category for 2 consecutive years, namely 2020 and 2021.
